Yoga adds years to your life, and life to your years

We love our Yoga in Alloa and we're sure you will too. Our classes offer safe and friendly places to practice Yoga. A space where you can gently stretch your body and quieten your mind, while offering peace and mindfulness to its lovers, helping them get through the stresses of everyday life.

There have been Yoga lovers in Alloa & Clackmannanshire since the early 1970s. This was mostly due to the late and wonderful Sylvia Hollingworth. Sylvia not only inspired myself and others to follow her and become Yoga teachers, she allowed all those who attended her many classes to fall in love with Yoga. A love that would last a lifetime and more.

My name is Derek and I love teaching Yoga. I started teaching Sylvia’s original Alloa class in  1997, having gained a 2 year diploma from Yoga Scotland (formally SYTA).  The Alloa class has now relocated to Sauchie, and since retiring, I am now teaching additional classes in Tullibody and at the amazing Ugym in Tillicoultry.

When you turn up to one of my classes you’ll be greeted with a smile and warmly welcomed by all, it doesn’t matter if you’re a complete beginner or an experienced Yogi. Sure, we’ve all got our favourite spots for our mats, but someone will always be at hand to help you find a space, make you feel comfortable and settle in.

We Love Yoga

It’s not about being good at Yoga, it’s about being good to yourself.

My Yoga doesn’t have to be perfect, my practice is my time to feel alive, my time to be loved and my time to be free.

Yoga Is a Gift

Yoga is not a work-out it is a work-in. The point of a mindful Yoga practice is to make us teachable, to open up our hearts to love and to focus our awareness so that we can know what we already know and be who we already are.

It's Time for Yoga

Today and every day is a great day for Yoga.

Yoga takes you into the present moment, the only place where life exists. Take your time in your Yoga practice, enjoy every moment, every breath.

"Yoga is a light, which once lit will never dim. The better your practice, the brighter your flame" B.K.S Iyengar
